The Three Pillars

The driving force behind Flint Hills Praisefest can be found in our three pillars:

1. Community

2. Worship

3. Giving

Community:

We firmly believe that, by bringing the body of Christ together to worship, we will foster new growth in our faith and develop a desire to step into uncharted territory and serve the Lord in his leading.

Worship:

The main focus of Praisefest is worship. Music is a powerful worship medium and we believe that making a joyful noise unto the Lord is really important.

Giving:

Through the fun and festivity of each annual Praisefest event, we give to deserving organizations to help them further their work in our community

2018 Charities

For the first time, TWO organizations will benefit from your generosity during Praisefest. We share the first 10% of all donations to Praisefest with these two tremendous local organizations.

History of Praisefest

Flint Hills Praisefest (know at the time as Lutherpalooza) was first held in 2011 at Peace Lutheran church in Manhattan, KS. The original purpose was to raise money for a young lady with cancer. 6 bands gathered for the sake of fundraising and fellowship.

Recognizing the tremendous opportunity to grow Lutherpalooza into a festival, the event was moved to Manhattan’s City Park. In 2012, 10 praise and worships bands performed on two stages. More than 500 people attended the event. During this time of transition, it became evident that people would support a larger festival centered on the three pillars of Community, Worship and Giving.

In 2014, the name of the event was changed to Flint Hills Praisefest in order to appeal to a broader audience - and that's exactly what happened. Sponsorships and attendance increased, which allowed us to bring in more popular artists. In 2016, we added a third stage.

The festival remained at City Park through 2017, when the audience simply outgrew the venue. Although attracting a crowd of 8,000 was certainly a tremendous feat for the sake of God’s Kingdom, City Park was simply too small to comfortably accommodate a crowd this size. The decision was made to move the event to CICO Park in Manhattan for the foreseeable future.
